Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: The Last Stand," "Sherlock Holmes") has been hired to write the first draft of a sequel to "X-Men: First Class" says Superhero Hype.
Kinberg was a producer on the 60's set prequel which starred Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. The pic boasts strong reviews but attained only decent box-office ($350 million worldwide), a sequel wasn't a sure thing but seemed probabable. Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz, Jane Goldman and Vaughn wrote the first film.
It's unknown at present if FC helmer Matthew Vaughn will be returning to call action or the principal cast will reprise their roles.
