Info Post

The further alterations made by George Lucas did not hurt sales of Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray.

A press release put out by Fox and Lucasfilm states the films took in $84 million globally from the nine-disc box-set since its debut on September 16th - selling over a million units with just over half (515,000) sold in North America-making it the number one pre-order and 'catalog title' since the launch of the Blu-ray format in 2006.

Despite the outcry over the changes made, reviews for the set were strong with the transfers for the classic trilogy and the final prequel Revenge of the Sith getting kudos

The transfer for the first prequel Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace got numerous criticisms.

Personally though I was more frustrated over the layout for the extras and the fact that the feature length doco Empire of Dreams: The Story of the 'Star Wars' Trilogy was not included in the Blu Set
